2010 Accel­er­ate Michi­gan Inno­va­tion Com­pe­ti­tion Award Winners

The 2010 Inter­na­tional Com­pe­ti­tion fueled innovation-based busi­ness growth by uncov­er­ing the best and bright­est new busi­ness con­cepts from local and global entre­pre­neurs, expos­ing those oppor­tu­ni­ties to poten­tial invest­ment cap­i­tal and fos­ter­ing their growth within Michi­gan. This first com­pe­ti­tion attracted over 600 busi­ness plans from 13 states as well as Canada, Switzer­land and South Africa. The major­ity of the final­ists were in the life sci­ences sec­tor, with good rep­re­sen­ta­tion in defense, logis­tics, and alter­na­tive energy.

More than $1 mil­lion was given in cash win­nings, plus in-kind awards of ser­vices, staffing and software.

  • Grand Prize win­ner and recip­i­ent of $500,000 – Armune BioSciences
  • First Run­ner up and recip­i­ent of $150,000 – Arbor Photonics
