Tony Scott’s background in business technology (CIO of VMWare and Microsoft Corp), entertainment (CIO of The Walt Disney Co.) and automotive (CTO of General Motors Corp.) is unprecedented.
He is a member of CIO magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame which honors those whose work has profoundly shaped the technology-enabled business landscape, demonstrated creative vision and leadership.
Tony recently joined VMware as chief information officer in August 2013. In this role, Tony manages VMware’s global information technology organization, a group that manages the critical technology systems supporting the company’s worldwide business operations. Most recently, Scott served as corporate vice president and CIO of Microsoft Corp, where he was responsible for security, infrastructure, messaging and business applications for all of Microsoft, including support of the product groups, the corporate business groups, and the global sales and marketing organization. Before joining Microsoft, Tony served as senior vice president and CIO of The Walt Disney Co., and CTO at General Motors Corp.
