3:45–5:15pm - Panel: An Investor’s View of Cleantech Competitiveness

Over the past 8 years, many world economies are investing staggering sums in developing clean technologies . It is widely believed that cleantech is the key to a resource-efficient, sustainable future so the investment is a positive step, however the challenge is that much of the capital is being invested inefficiently. Cleantech is not a yet robust industry – it is a series of market segments that are part of a nascent and growing industry which needs support for an ecosystem in which such an fully formed and vigorous industry can arise. This panel consists of several investors who are intimately engaged in the cleantech investment world and have a birds-eye view of the technology, policy and financing challenges that are inherent in the industry.
